LASIK is an increasing surgical procedure. This surgery is an effective surgical procedure for the treatment of refractive disorders such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. The aim of this study was to investigate the complications of LASIK surgery.

this study is a review of the scientific bases, through Search in Sciencedirect, Pubmed, as well as books and other authoritative scientific sources.

According to the findings In LASIK surgery, as with other surgeries, the risk factors and those patients with high risk of surgery should be identified and patients should be placed in the best possible condition before surgery. Complications include Corrosion of the cornea caused by corneal collisions with lens, dry eyes, Optical deviations, reduced contrast sensitivity, reduced corneal building stability, photophobia and increased risk of cataract. Also numbers of patients getting long-term complications of steroids, secondary cataracts, glaucoma, infection and non-infectious keratitis.

Overall, considering the benefits of LASIK surgery, this is a safe and effective way to correct eye refractive disorders with limited complications. However, possible complications during and after this surgery and clinical conditions of patients should be considered.
