Purpose:
To evaluate the visual and refractive outcomes
after femtosecond
laser–assisted anterior lamellar keratoplasty using biosynthetic collagensurgery for superficial corneal scars.
Methods:
: Patients with superficial corneal scars underwent femtosecond laser–assisted anterior lamellar
keratoplasty. Visual and refractive results, were assessed preoperatively and for 1 year postoperatively.
Results:
: Eight eyes (8 patients) were evaluated. A significant decline occurred in refractive
astigmatism and corneal astigmatism after 1 year. There were no significant changes in uncorrected visual acuity but a significant improvement in best corrected visual acuity.
Conclusion:
Femtosecond laser–assisted anterior lamellar keratoplasty using biosynthetic collagen was an efficient and safe procedure for treatment of superficial corneal haze in patients with anterior corneal pathologies.
