Purpose:
|
Myasthenia Gravis (MG) is an acquired autoimmune systemic disease which presents mainly as muscle weakness and has specific ocular manifestations including ptosis, diplopia, strabismus and accommodative/vergence dysfunctions.
While ptosis is present in many cases, sometimes the initial presentation is purely eye deviation without ptosis, which makes the diagnosis challenging.

Methods:

In this short article two cases with acute onset strabismus (constant acute esotropia) are presented that finally were diagnosed as MG.

Conclusion:
|
Physicians should be alert about Myasthenia Gravis in any acute onset eye deviation especially with variability and fatigability.
